Sella: a source of income

The Sella river can say it is a famous river in sports, both in the environment of the fishing world as in the national and international canoeing.

Now regarded as an elite sport, fishing for salmon and trout in the river Sella is one of the biggest tourist attractions of the municipalities located on the banks of the same, which is a source of income for shops and businesses located in the zone.

Another source of income linked to the river are active tourism activities practiced in it, as the Sella Descent canoe, canyoning or rafting.

Therefore it can be considered the Sella River as one of the main economic engines of the eastern part of Asturias. Councils as Cangas de Onis, Parres and Ribadesella offer tourists different ways to enjoy the river and hence the other attractions of the area, such as visits to caves such as Tito Bustillo, walks in the Picos de Europa, Lagos Covadonga, beaches like Golpiyuri or even visit the museum of Jurassic.

Of course, there will always have the mind that being such an important area for the river, it is essential to take care of it, promoting actions that lead to the conservation of the environment, trying to remain the Sella we all know.
